The ABMP is honored to be partners with Champions for an HIV Free Generation, a high profile group of African leaders committed to personal advocacy with political leadership across Africa in the effort to bolster and sustain support for comprehensive HIV prevention, treatment and care. ABMP and Champions share the vision of an HIV-free generation and leaders of both groups have committed to on-going collaboration in support of this goal. ABMP Steering Committee Chair, Joyce Mhaville, has already participated in Champions’ delegations to Mozambique, Namibia and South Africa, and, in December 2009, ABMP and Champions jointly produced and distributed a special World AIDS Day public service announcement.

The ad, drawing its inspiration from 2009 hit track – Bread Winner – by popular South African hip hop star ProVerb, is aimed mainly at a male audience promoting themes of personal responsibility, respect and caring. The ad was also informed by research undertaken by the Soul City Institute for its One Love Campaign, and reflects similar themes to South Africa-based campaign called Brothers for Life.
